While I was at Lea Road I helped with the various community groups running at the time such as the football club, United Family Support Group, café and Rainbows. I also had the opportunity to volunteer in the wider community playing the piano for an occupational therapy singing group for people with dementia. I don’t think I could pick one highlight from the year! I think the variety of people and activities each day was what made it such a fulfilling year! I’m now a geography teacher in a secondary school in Worcestershire; not too far away, so I have been able to come back to visit Wolverhampton. I’m part of a church in Worcester and am part of the youth and children’s work team. |

The programmes that I worked with while at Lea Road included the Girl Scouts, the Monday lunch club, and the Roma Drop-In. The highlight from my volunteer year was putting on the Big Lunch in the spring. We had food, games, and beautiful weather and I was incredibly grateful to have so many people from the church pitch in and help put on such a great day. I live in Nashville, Tennessee, and I work at Vanderbilt University's Project Safe Center for Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response as a Prevention Educator and Victim Resource Specialist. Essentially, I do prevention education and programming for college students around issues of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. Additionally, I work with students who have been impacted by intimate partner violence. In my free time I enjoy reading, I recently took up boxing, and since I live in "Music City," I spend a lot of time going to concerts and shows. |

Some of my favorite Lea Road memories are when the Lazers led worship, the carol service, Skittles and pizza nights, the Big Lunch, and my farewell service. I miss everyone and think of Lea Road often. I just finished my first semester of seminary at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. I will be getting a masters of divinity and will be ordained as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. |

During my year at Lea Road, I loved helping with various groups meeting in the building. Some of the groups I helped with include the Rainbows, Roma Drop-In, Monday lunch group, Wednesday Youth Club, and Youth Fellowship. In August I moved to Montana where I am working as part of the community staff at a camp near Glacier National Park. Over the next couple of years, I am focusing on saving money to attend graduate school for either physiotherapy or research psychology. |
