Our Sunday morning service starts at 11am and lasts for about one hour. During our service we sing to God, pray, hear readings from the Bible and listen to a sermon.
We sing a mix of modern worship songs and traditional hymns. Music is provided by the worship band and organists. Everyone is welcome at our services: families, singles, children and young people, older people. We begin with all ages worshipping together. After this time, separate activities are provided for children and teenagers and a crèche for pre-school children. Every 3rd Sunday all ages remain together for the entire service which is accessible to all: Our Family Service. Once a month our service includes the celebration of Holy Communion whereby we commemorate the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ through the symbols of bread and wine. After the service tea and coffee are served and there’s time for a friendly chat. We are a diverse group of people and we aim to offer a genuine welcome to everyone who would like to come along and worship with us. Community engagement is a very important part of our mission. At Lea Road worship of God goes hand in hand with service to our neighbours. Our services aim to inspire us to be an active community, engaged in living for Jesus not just on a Sunday but during the week also. There is no dress code! Come as you are: informal and casual or Sunday best - whatever suits you is fine. |
